David Campos became President of Serta Simmons Bedding (SSB) Canada and Executive Vice President and Chief Transformation Officer for Serta Simmons Bedding in 2020 after joining as Chief Transformation Officer in 2019.
In this role, David is responsible for the overall performance of SSB’s Canadian business and continues to oversee the broader company’s transformation efforts. He has successfully led SSB’s growth agenda and has been instrumental in leading the company’s strategic growth priority focused on the big box channel.
Prior to joining SSB, David served as Vice President and General Manager of Kimberly Clark Professional for Latin America. His career with Kimberly Clark spanned 10 years in various roles, including Country Manager for Spain and Portugal, sales leader of the U.S. Costco business, and Director of Corporate Strategy. Prior to joining Kimberly-Clark, David was an Associate Partner at McKinsey & Co., based in the Bogota, Chicago, and Johannesburg offices. During his tenure with McKinsey he focused on leading large-scale performance transformations across multiple industries and co-founded the Sub-Saharan Operations practice. David began his career with Procter & Gamble in Colombia.
Born in Colombia, David holds a master’s degree in Management and a master’s degree in Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He was awarded Fulbright and Leaders for Global Operations fellowships. He also holds a bachelor’s degree with honors in Electrical Engineering from the Universidad de los Andes in Colombia.
Marilyn has been VP of Human Resources at SSB since 2017. In this role, she handles all HR activities for the Canadian business.Marilyn joined SSB in 2014 as Human Resources Operations Lead for Canada and HR Business Partner for the Vaughan manufacturing facility.

Before this, Marilyn was Human Resources Manager for Husky Injection Molding Systems (a Canada-based global manufacturer). During her time, she held a variety of roles supporting te engineering, supply chain, finance, support services, information technology and marketing teams. She also helped establish the company’s first global supply chain team. Marilyn also completed a year-long secondment with Husky’s compensation team.
Over her 20-year career in human resources, Marilyn’s worked in a variety of industries, including manufacturing, distribution, and retail, among others.
Marilyn holds an honours degree from the University of Western Ontario in Englishand History, a diploma in Human Resources from Sheridan College, and obtained her CHRM in 1995.
Eric Besner serves as Vice President of Marketing and Innovation, a role he has held since March 2018. Eric oversees all marketing and innovation functions for the Canadian organization with a strong focus on executing strategy to strengthen SSB’s brands and product offerings in Canada.With a long history in bedding and related industries spanning over 25 years, Eric has the unique experience of building strong sales, marketing, product and customer experience teams.
Beginning his career in a family owned urethane foam company, Eric soon entered into the basic bedding business in 1995 where he held positions of increasing responsibility at industry leading companies Pacific Coast Feather and Louisville Bedding. In 2011 Eric was promoted to Executive Vice President Sales and Marketing for North America at Louisville Bedding, leading all sales and marketing functions for both the Canadian and the American organizations.
In 2013, Eric joined Serta Simmons Bedding to lead the Simmons Beautyrest sales organization. Successfully growing market share and overall sales goals, he then worked as a cross functional leader taking the team through its transformation to Serta Simmons Bedding.
As VP of Sales at SSB Canada, Denis handles all sales including retail, hospitality and online experiences.Denis has been in the bedding business for more than 40 years. He’s held diverse roles, such as Territory Account Manager, Sales Manager, General Manager, and Managing Partner of the Serta licensee in Vancouver.
In 2014 he negotiated the sale of Serta Vancouver to Serta International and became Regional Vice President of Sales for Serta Canada. When SSB formed in 2015, he became Vice President of Sales for Serta Canada. In 2018, his experience and expertise earned him a promotion to Vice President of Sales of SSB Canada.
Denis lives in the Vancouver area and has three children and two grandchildren.
Tom Allen joined SSBCanada as VP Finance in 2018. He handles all the financial areas at SSB, including financial planning and analysis, operations finance, credit and accounts receivable, accounts payable, and all accounting and controls for the Canadian entity.BeforeSSB, Tom spent ten years as the Director of Finance and Controller for WhirlpoolCanada LP, the Canadian arm of the leading global appliance manufacturer behind the Jenn-Air, KitchenAid, Maytag, Whirlpool, Amana and Inglis brands.
During Tom’s tenure, the Canadian dollar deteriorated. This put considerable stress on the industry and company. With Tom’s guidance, Whirlpool Canada’s response to these challenges resulted in it receiving the Chairman’s Global “Value Creation of the Year” award.
Before Whirlpool,Tom worked in a family-owned firm in the Automotive Industry. He held a variety of operational positions, including VP-level roles in strategy, sales (for two tier-ones and one OEM), plant operations (running the USA/Ohio plant –achieving a significant turnaround), and supply chain.
Tom began his career at ICI PLC, a British-owned chemical company. He held many financial roles, ending with a three-year posting to South Africa. His posting helped the parent company achieve a significant acquisition. Towards the end of his secondment, Tom transitioned into operational roles, starting in RSA with a product/business unit responsibility.
Tom holds an MBA from the Schulich School of Business and a Bachelor’s in Economics, both from York University.
Dorian Munk joined SSB Canada as Vice President of Operations in 2016. He’s responsible for operations across the five manufacturing facilities. His leadership guides the supply chain, procurement processes, and engineering services.Dorian has over 20 years of experience in manufacturing operations, supply chain management, product management, and customer relationship management. Previous experiences include work for public, non-manufacturing, service businesses and private equity investors. Dorian has developed strategies to realize market opportunities by implementing customer-focused initiatives.
Before joining SSB, Dorian worked with Private Equity Funds on investment initiatives, operational excellence, merger and acquisition support, and project/product management. Before that, he was VP of Operations, and served on the Board of Directors, for a Tier 1 automotive supplier with facilities in Mexico, the USA and Canada.
Earlier in his career, Dorian held positions of increasing responsibility with Skyjack Inc. and Hewlett Packard.
Dorian holds an MBA from the Schulich School of Business at York University. He also holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the Rotman School of Business at the University of Toronto.
